Collaboration with All Events

All Events is a Belgian based company which rents out wooden cabins, tents, sunshades, etc. They have a lot of partners in the Benelux, but also in France, Austria, England, Dubai, Canada, ...  Their wooden cabins are super popular at festivals, they are very easy to set up (± 3 minutes) and you can sleep with up to 4 people per chalet.

Product

When festival goers rented these cabins, they didn’t' have a source of power. This is why together with two people from college we developed a 'power unit'. This unit is made out of the scrap materials All Events has left while producing their wooden cabins. It receives its power from a CEE plug which is used a lot at festivals and camping’s. Once connected the unit offers 2 240V sockets (to give power to hair dryers, laptops, camera battery chargers, etc.), 2 5V USB's (with compartments to store your phone), a mirror, and a led strip with switch to light up the cabin.

Production

The power unit consists of 5 different layers of CNC milled wood kept together by 4 screws. We designed the power unit that if malfunctions would start to occur you can easily examine where the problems are by removing the back layer (pic. 6).
