Fabric piano

For one of the courses I had (experimental), we were free to experiment with conductive thread and paint. After a dozen experiments I realised that conductive paint was'nt reliable enough. That is why I decided to continue with the conductive thread. I started thinking of a product with which I could practice this matter. That is when I came up with the idea of creating a 'fabric paino'.

What it is/does

I've put the conductive thread a few times through 'piano' keys out of fabric. These are attached to an arduino lilypad. As soon as someone touches one of the keys, the lilypad notices a change in the current. Than the only thing you have to do is wiring a buzzer in the circuit and programming different sounds to the different keys.

Future improvements

The buzzer we used for this project is very limited and doesn't produce a lot of decibels. If this project would be further developed, a bigger and better buzzer/audio source would give a lot more output. It could also be possible to build in a bluetooth module.
